Get Tilda Swinton Skincare Tips For Looking Flawless At 60

One look at actress Tilda Swinton and you can’t help but wonder: What in the world are her skincare secrets? After all, the 60-year-old’s skin completely radiates and screams low-maintenance given her signature short hairstyle and minimalist, fresh-faced look.

But, first, let’s start with her creds: Most recently, Tilda stars in Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch alongside an all-star cast that includes Timothée Chalamet, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody. Anderson told Variety the Oscar-winning actress is not only acting in his films but “a collaborator in the whole project.”

“I love cooking things up with people, and the way one dares oneself with people you really trust,” Tilda told the publication. “What I love most about it, and the most important element, is the ongoing conversation. The films themselves are leaves that fall off the tree — but the tree is the conversation.”

So where do fashion, beauty, and her overall killer style fit into the conversation? She’s pretty open about that, too. “I have never been particularly hung up on what I look like” Tilda told Elle Canada in 2015. “I was this height when I was 13, and you know, there’s only so much I can do with myself.”

Ahead, get the scoop on Tilda’s top beauty secrets, including the one tip that costs absolutely nothing at all.

She exfoliates *everywhere* and regularly.

Tilda’s facialist Cristina Radu revealed in an interview with W Magazine that she encourages her celeb clients—which also include Olivia Munn, Brad Pitt, and Rooney Mara— to exfoliate daily.

“Every day exfoliate the face, body, back of the hands, elbows, knees, heels—every day,” Radu told the publication. “Do it gently and thoroughly, please, for your own good, and you can’t go wrong!”

Radu says the exfoliation process is especially important in the winter when you need to slough away dry skin. “The lips take a beating also,” she noted, adding that applying a lip balm with SPF is essential to the lip care process. Try a lip exfoliating product, like the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Lip Pop, which includes naturally-exfoliating coconut sugar, or even a tool designed especially for nixing dry, cracked lips, like the Sephora Exfoliator and Applicator Tool.

She swears by this serum.

One of the secrets to Tilda’s glow? The själ Bio-Regeneratif Serum, the actress told InStyle in 2015. It comes with a hefty price tag at $260(!) but Tilda says it’s worth it.

“Last summer, while shooting in a hot, dry place I used this, and it made all the difference,” she told the publication about the serum’s combination of moisturizing, vitamin C, and skin-brightening properties.

She sticks by this one simple rule.

When the Doctor Strange actress has downtime, she says there’s one thing she is sure to add more of to her beauty regimen—snooze time. When Elle Canada asked Tilda about her beauty must-haves, she answered: “A good night’s sleep.”

According to the Sleep Foundation, the average adult 26 to 64 years old needs approximately 7 to 9 hours of shut-eye per night to prevent disease, illness, chronic pain, and, yes, earn some beauty rest.

She’s not afraid to play with makeup.

OK, so Tilda’s an icon when it comes to her androgynous style and wide-ranging fashion choices—she can kill it in a power suit *and* a gown. And when it comes to makeup, she says she’s inspired by its ability to transform.

“The wonderful thing about makeup for me is that a little goes a very long way,” she told Harpers Bazaar in 2015. “So the possibilities of making new faces with it—in my work—are pretty tantalizing.”
