Tan Mom ‘On Life Support’ & In ‘Medically Induced Sleep’ Amid Health Complication

Sending well wishes to Tan Mom right now.

Patricia Krentcil, better known as “Tan Mom,” is reportedly in critical condition due to complications from pneumonia.

In a statement to Us Weekly on Sunday, Krentcil’s songwriting partner Adam Barta explained that she is “still on life support (via the intubator) and in a medically induced sleep” until her heart and lungs are strong enough to function on their own.

While the fluid is “draining from her lungs” and she was improving as of Sunday, Barta noted that she’s “definitely not out of the woods.” He continued:

“They are feeding her very strong antibiotics to kill the infection as well so her system is taking quite a hit. I personally believe last night was the most critical turning point, and she made it so she will only continue to get better.”

Good to hear.

Barta added that doctors’ current plan is to “try to extubate and revive her or Tuesday, provided she maintains this trajectory.” Meanwhile, he and the mother-of-five’s family “continue to ask for prayers and all the amazing well wishes everyone has been sending.”

Barta notes that the viral star’s five children — including her teen daughter, Anna — “have relocated temporarily to be by her bedside in Florida.”

For those who don’t know, Krentcil became an internet sensation in 2012 after she was arrested for taking the now-teen into a tanning bed in Nutley, New Jersey, which resulted in severe burns all over the then five-year-old’s body.

Tan Mom pleaded not guilty to second-degree child endangerment and was released from jail on $25,000 bail. Ultimately, the grand jury chose not to indict her.

Years later, Krentcil spoke out about the incident that made her tabloid famous and explained how it had negatively affected her life. In an interview published in the New York Post in July 2017, she revealed:

“I turned into a mess. I couldn’t leave my home. I couldn’t eat out — I couldn’t get detergent at Kmart. Everyone looked at me like I was a horrific mom. Basically, everyone hated me.”

Despite the hate, Tan Mom tried to make the best out of her newfound fame. She went on to release a 2013 rap single, appropriately titled It’s Tan Mom, and later that year made her adult video debut in a gay porn movie called Kings of New York.
