Taylor Swift Reveals Album Title And Release Date, Drops New Single
Taylor Swift has announced title of her new seventh studio album, Lover, which will drop on August 23 via Republic Records.
Swift also released a new single from the record “You Need to Calm Down,” with a video of the single to release on Monday, June 17. Her latest single “ME!” will also be on the new album, which is a follow-up to 2017’s Reputation.
“Lover, album out August 23. Cover shot by the artistic genius that is @valheria123. Pre-add, pre-save, pre-order (all the pre stuff you feel like doing) Can’t wait for you to hear this,” Swift tweeted.
Swift also revealed cover art of her 18-track album. In addition to the standard physical CD, four deluxe editions of Lover will also be available via Target.
“There’s a lot that I’ve been excited about for so long, and I just wanted to wait for the right time to tell you things,” Swift said to fans who joined her on an Instagram Live stream.
“This album, in tone, it’s very romantic and not just simply thematically, like it’s all love songs or something,” she added. “I think the idea of something being romantic, it doesn’t have to be a happy song. I think you can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through a conflict or dealing with things in your life. I think it just kind of looks at those things with a very romantic gaze.”
