Duchess of Cambridge is ‘like a goddess’ on the green carpet of the Earthshot Prize award

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Earthshot Prize in what seemed to be an electric Audi. Kate looked “like a goddess”, said Twitter user DarkSldeoftMoon.

She wore an Alexander McQueen dress.

The bespoke lilac dress was a Grecian-style gown Kate wore back in 2011 for a BAFTA event in Los Angeles.

The floor-length gown was accessorised with a glittery belt and drop earrings.

She wore her hair to one side.

Twitter user Bee Wilde said: “Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, looks magnificent.”

Sara said: “She looks stunning, just as she always does, a beautiful lady full of grace.”

In 2011, the dress was described by online retailer Net-a-Porter: “Alexander McQueen’s gorgeous Grecian floor-length gown will leave you feeling like a modern day Aphrodite.

“Cinch in the cascading layers with McQueen’s signature fuchsia belt and adorn yourself in gilded extras for a show stopping finish.”

Kate’s love of wearing her dresses more than once was fitting for the Earthshot Prize event.

The prize is described as a “new global prize for the environment, designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next 10 years”.

Kate showed the country the way forward by re-wearing her dress.

The Prize has been commented on by the Prince of Wales.

Charles took to Twitter to praise his son.

He said: “I am very proud of my son, William, for his growing commitment to the environment and the bold ambition of the Earthshot Prize.

“As a world, we need to come together to inspire, reimagine and build the sustainable future we so desperately need.”

He signed the tweet: “HRH The Prince of Wales”.

Tonight’s awards ceremony was a star-studded event.

Judges included Sir David Attenborough, Cate Blanchett and Shakira.

To hand out the awards, actors Emma Thompson, Emma Watson and David Oyelowo were also on hand.
