Can Love Island contestants wear their own clothes while inside the villa?

What a series this year’s Love Island has been with its Casa Amor drama which sparked trouble in paradise for many couples.

However, one thing that has been a permanent and positive fixture during the show is the stunning style choices from the cast.

As we all know, brands such as the official fashion partner of the show ISAWITFIRST and others such as PrettyLittleThing send in clothes for the Islanders to wear.

Yet, one question that has been on our minds is how much of their pre-owned wardrobe are they allowed to take with them?

We spoke to a brand that has stolen the show about how much the cast can take into the villa and that is none other than Oh Polly.

A representative for the brand said how “Each islander takes in their own product and obviously wants to make sure that the product makes them look their best and reflects their personality.

“The result is that often they take in products that they have purchased from us in the past, including previous season items – not just gifted product.”

Naturally when the Islanders first enter the villa, brands aren’t going to send in a great amount of pieces from the get go to someone who might soon be dumped.

Instead they have consultations with the shows partners ISAWITFIRST, for the product team to get to know their individual style.

Liberty is a perfect example of this as she shared a picture on her Instagram of herself sporting a red corset style top and matching skirt which was from Oh Polly here.

This fierce coord made a sizzling appearance on the show as she turned everyone's heads one evening.

Whilst this happens, the brand then went on to say “Generally the contestants' agents will reach out to us and ask for gifted products for the selection of girls that they have on stand-by for the villa.”

“We don’t find out any of the girls' names and not everyone on the agents list gets to enter the villa.

“That means that we are splitting our bets and listening to good old-fashioned rumours as to who might be going in.”

Love Island’s Casa Amor vs the villa: The girls show off their best style

With the Islanders being sent new items weekly or on demand when they need new pieces, it is believed that they take very little in with them as they are soon inundated with parcels of new must-haves.

This is not only for them to have a constant supply of fresh clothing, but also so that they can be on top of trends and even set some for the summer season – which they have done often during the show.

It seems fan’s just can’t get enough of their clobber.
