Kirk Sutherland first appeared on Coronation Street's cobbles in May 2000, and the character has been played by actor Andy Whyment, 39, ever since.
Kirk is the older brother of Maria, played by Samia Longchambon, and in real life the actor who plays him is happily settled down with wife, Nichola, and their two children.
Fans of Kirk were delighted to see the actor who plays him, Andy, pop up on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019 too.

In one hilarious scene, Andy invited Caitlyn Jenner to Manchester for pub golf, leaving viewers in hysterics in the process.

Who is Andy Whyment married to?
Andy has been with his wife Nichola (née Willis) since they met in Manchester in 2004, with the actor telling Digital Spy the pair "really hit it off."
He said: "After we were together for a few months I thought about marriage and babies but wanted to live with each other first."
The couple tied the knot in 2007 after three years together, and celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary in 2017.

Andy opened up about their marriage to celebrate the marriage milestone to OK! magazine .
He said: "She’s gorgeous! I’m a very lucky bloke. We’ve been together 14 years and we just don’t argue. We get on so well.
"I fancied Nic for some time but nothing happened. Then we copped off one night and it wasn’t too long before I realised she was the one I wanted to be with.

"I said in my wedding speech you just know when you meet the one, and that's true."
Nichola added to OK!: "It was a good few months for me because he was a bit of an idiot when I first met him.
"He was single and sharing a place with Al (Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs). He was just giving it big time and not doing what I wanted him to do."

Andy often shares insights into his home life with his 404,000 Instagram followers and in a recent snap he posed wit his wife, holding beers.
“Cheers from me and @nicski31 have a nice weekend everyone,” the star penned, followed by a heart emoji.
Does Andy Whyment have children?
Andy and Nichola welcomed their first child, son Thomas, in 2009 and a daughter, Hollie, in 2011.
Before heading off to the I'm A Celebrity… jungle, Andy enjoyed a family holiday with his wife, children and extended family.
He wrote alongside a snap of his loved ones: "Had a fantastic time in Palma Nova with the family, and Hollie dressed up on the plane on the way home helping the @jet2pics stewardess’s sell the charity scratch cards #family [sic] "

The dad and daughter duo did a dance routine together and they were very synchronised indeed.
Andy paid a sweet tribute to his wife on Mother’s Day, and shared a photo of her with the kids.

Andy revealed to OK! magazine in 2017 that he has undergone a vasectomy, so he and Nichola won't be adding any more members to their brood.
He said: "There's no chance [of having anymore kids] as I had the snip a few years ago.
"We said we wanted two kids and we have been really fortunate to have a girl and a boy."
