Fan art shows Sebastian Stan as The Riddler
The Riddler, of course, is a villain in the DC Comics universe, which is why fans are making such a big deal of Stan playing the iconic part. With rumors swirling, fans have already taken some creative license and rendered a photo of what Stan might look like as The Riddler. Although the image is not official, we have to say that Stan would make a convincing Edward Nygma.
The photo does a great job showing the more geeky nature ofThe Riddler’s character while maintaining Stan’s intimidating physique. If Stancould pull this off in the movie, he would certainly make a worthy adversaryfor the caped crusader.
But if he accepts the role, it is unclear what would happenwith his contract with Marvel. Stan enjoyed some quality screen time in Marvel’slatest offering, Avengers: Endgame, though the studio has not revealed any future plans for his character.
Everything we know about the new Batman movie
DC has been very secretive about the upcoming Batman film, which has been in development for several years. Ben Affleck was supposed to lead the movie, though he backed out of the project after he stopped playing Batman. Matt Reeves took the reins from Affleck, though he has yet to reveal any details about the project.
The only thing we know for sure is that the movie will focuson a young Bruce Wayne. According to CinemaBlend, there are also rumors that Twilightalum Robert Pattinson will be the new Batman.
When it comes to villains, inside sources say that bothPenguin and Catwoman will be Batman’s primary foes in the film. Reevesreportedly has people lined up for both parts, but fans are hoping that thereis room for one more bad guy.
If Reeves opts for another villainous cameo, then TheRiddler would be the perfect option. Considering how Stan has previouslyexpressed interest in playing the iconic role, it seems like things are liningup at just the right time.
Sebastian Stan teams up with Tom Holland
While fans hope that Stan lands the DC role, he recentlyteamed up with Tom Holland for a film completely unrelated to superheroes. Thetwo are set to appear in a movie set after the events in World War II called The Devil All the Time.
Directed by Antonio Campos, the movie involves the journeyof a war veteran, a pair of serial killers, and a false preacher. Apart fromHolland and Sebastian Stan, the movie stars Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling,Jason Clarke, and Bill Skarsgard. Jake Gyllenhaal, who stars alongside Hollandin Spider-Man: Far From Home, helpedproduce the film.
Interestingly, the movie also stars the likes of Pattinson. ChrisEvans, meanwhile, was supposed to play the lead in the project but was forcedto back out because of a scheduling issue. Evans recommended Stan for the part, making this the first time the Winter Soldier actor has teamed up with Hollandoutside of Marvel Studios.
Sebastian Stan opens up about Winter Soldier story arc
When it comes to his Marvel character, Stan recently openedup about the decision to have Captain America (Evans) give Falcon (AnthonyMackie) his shield at the conclusion of Endgame.Although many fans were disappointed by the move, Stan believes that it wasactually quite liberating for Bucky.
As Stan explained it, Steve Rogers knew what it was likeliving with that kind of responsibility and wanted to make sure Bucky was notforced to take up his mantle. This may have been completely different from thecomics, but it makes sense from Sebastian Stan’s perspective. It also frees himup from future involvement in the franchise.
