Everyone knows that shops tend to be closed on big holidays or operating under reduced hours on Bank Holidays, but what about Easter weekend? Easter is a time for indulging in chocolate eggs and delicious meals, and most of us will need to do a big shop before celebrations commence. If Lidl’s your favourite supermarket, you’re probably wondering what time Lidl stores are open this weekend. Here’s everything you need to know.

Besides the religious meaning, Easter weekend is all about having time off work to relax with your loved ones and eating far too much chocolate.

If you’ve forgotten to stock up on Easter chocolate or need to make a run to the shops to purchase some ingredients for your dinner, you don’t need to panic.

While shops in England, Wales and Northern Ireland must close on Easter Sunday, there’s still time to pop in before the big day.

Good Friday (April 2) and Easter Monday (April 5) are Bank Holidays, which means you have probably scored a couple of days off work.

Traditionally, every establishment including shops would close on a Bank Holiday, but today only banks are required to close.

Whether or not a shop is closed on a Bank Holiday is up to the business, so some supermarkets may open, others may close and others may open for a shorter time than usual.

For the most part, Lidl stores and other supermarkets are open as usual this weekend, except on Easter Sunday and Monday.

However, the supermarket advises customers to use the store locator tool online to double-check opening and closing times.
