Tuesday’s Episode Of "Big Brother 22" Drew 1.0 Rating, Viewership Dipped Slightly From Sunday
Ratings for Tuesday’s episode of Big Brother moved back up.
There was immense television competition, including Game 7 between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets, another episode of America’s Got Talent and Donald Trump’s The President and the People: A 20/20 Special Event on ABC.
Despite that, Big Brother 22 tuned in excellent viewership numbers. The show won the 18-49 demo (1.0), with 3.96 million viewers, per Dino-Ray Ramos of Deadline.
Big Brother usually runs on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. But because CBS is broadcasting the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday, the episode was bumped up to Tuesday night. Thursday’s live and eviction episode will run as initially scheduled.
Sunday’s episode of Big Brother 22 also drew a 1.0 demo, per Deadline, with 4.40 million viewers. That was despite competition from NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast which featured the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Rams, two of the league’s big market teams.
All in all, the ratings for Big Brother 22 remain very high as the show nears the final 10. So far, five houseguests have been evicted, and a sixth will be voted out on Thursday’s episode.
America’s Got Talent and several other marquee programs will continue to provide serious competition for Big Brother. NFL’s Thursday Night Football (on FOX) and the aforementioned Sunday Night Football broadcast will surely affect BB22 ratings one way or another.
Big Brother traditionally runs from late June to late September. But this season was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with the premiere taking place on Aug. 5. It’s believed that the finale will take place on Oct. 28.
Tuesday’s episode was arguably the most compelling of the season. Dani, the Head of Household, nominated Kevin and David for eviction. But the latter secretly used the “Disruptor Power” to remove himself from the block, which prompted Dani to put up ally Tyler instead.
Da’Vonne won the Power of Veto and used it to save Kevin, prompting Dani to place Ian beside Tyler on the block. Either the season 14 winner or season 20 runner-up will be evicted on Thursday.
