Conor McGregor hugged by pregnant fiancee Dee Devlin who is almost in tears after brutal UFC 257 KO to Dustin Poirier

CONOR McGREGOR shared an emotional moment with his pregnant fiancee Dee Devlin after defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.

The Irish superstar suffered the third setback of his UFC career, but was knocked out for the first time.

And it proved all too much for partner Dee, who was almost in tears after the heartbreaking result.

Footage captured McGregor hugging his long-time girlfriend, who he proposed to this summer.

They have two kids together, Conor Jr, three, and Croia, two, but are expecting a third this year

Dee has been by her man's side for all his losses and motivated him to bounce back.

McGregor was beaten for the first time in the UFC by Nate Diaz in March 2016.

But he avenged the result just five months later and ended the year by winning the lightweight title.

McGregor wants a similar rematch, which would be a trilogy bout, to avenge the loss and complete their series.

His last defeat came in 2018, a bitter submission to arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Since that night, the former two-weight champion had just 40 seconds going into his UFC return, having stopped Donald Cerrone last January.

McGregor, 32, pointed to the lack of time in the octagon as a reason for why his rematch with Poirier did not go his way.

He said: "It's hard to overcome inactivity over long periods of time. And that's just it.

"The leg kicks were good. That low calf good was very good. The leg was dead and I just wasn't as comfortable as I needed to be.

"It's inactivity and that's it. But Dustin is some fighter. If you put in the time in here, you're going to get cosy in here and that's it."
