Nathan Aspinall shares joke with Gerwyn Price about crowd during Cardiff final

Nathan Aspinall shared a joke with Gerwyn Price about the fans during his 6-3 defeat to the Iceman during the final of night two of Premier League darts in Cardiff.

The Englishman, who was for obvious reasons not the crowd favourite, took a little grief from supporters after pausing to re-arrange his standing position ahead of a potential 180 throw during the third leg.

To his credit, the Asp took it in good spirits and turned towards the crowd to egg them on a little before playfully tapping Price on the chest and giving the Welshman a thumbs up after sharing a little laugh with him.

Fans on social media speculated about what was said between the pair, with one Twitter user saying: "I bet Aspinall told him, 'now I know how you feel mate'."

Another agreed, tweeting: "Must be weird for Price, not being the one who's getting all the boos."

A third added: "That's how you deal with boos Gerwyn! Not with ear defenders."

Earlier in the night, Aspinall was lauded for his stunning semi-final performance against Peter Wright, during which he hit a magnificent ghost nine darter, but he couldn't carry his form over into the final.

Price meanwhile saw off Michael van Gerwen in the semi, courtesy of a dramatic last-leg decider, and followed it up with a routine win over Aspinall to get his Premier League campaign up and running.
