    GREGOR'S REACTION

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend reacts to the game:

“It was a bit of an arm wrestle wasn't it, and we just never seemed to get ahead of the scoreboard.

“A lot of times we came back, came back from three or six points down to get back in the game.

“I thought in the first half tactically we were very good, but in the second half when they scored the try obviously we were up against it.

“And we had some errors in the second half whether it was discipline or not executing right because there were chances there to win that game.”

    STUART SPEAKS

Scotland skipper Stuart Hogg has this to say after his sides defeat:

“I think for 75 minutes we were probably the better team, we felt in control.

“Five minutes after half time we slip up for thirty seconds and they score a try so [it's] frustrating.

“We've got a lot to learn but we feel in a good place, we didn't turn rubbish overnight so we'll go back to the drawing board and start again.”

“Absolutely we are so happy for the win today, we've been working so hard for the last few weeks and we're happy that we managed to get the win here today.

“We beat Scotland here, so we're probably going top of the table, and yeah it's a good feeling.

“We knew that it was going to be tough coming here and trying to get the win here, but we stuck to our game plan and we managed to score the try and yeah it's teamwork that we saw today.”
