WWE star Rachael Evers 'hit by drunk driver' while on way home from NXT Performance Centre

WWE star Rachael Evans has revealed how she was the victim of a hit and run drunk driver while travelling home from work.

The 26-year-old is one of the most promising wrestlers on the NXT roster.

But her career – and potentially life – escaped intact after the shocking incident occurred in Florida after she had been honing her skills at WWE’s Performance Centre.

Evans broke the news on Twitter, saying: “Let me start by saying this: I am ok.

“I was hit by a drunk driver today on my way home from the PC. Hit and run.

“I’m extremely thankful it was my passengers side that was hit.

“Some people aren’t so lucky-please DONT DRINK AND DRIVE.”

Despite the shock of the traumatic collision, Evans claimed she chased down the culprit and managed to get a photo of them and their vehicle’s number plate.

She has now reported them to the police and hopefully the drunk driver will now be prosecuted.

Evers only signed for WWE in January on a developmental contract but she has made several appearances over the past three years.

After beating Marti Belle in the first round, she suffered defeat to Abbey Laith in the next stage of the 2017 Mae Young Classic tournament.

She is the daughter of the legendary Paul Ellering, the former manager of Legion of Doom and Authors of Pain.
