Coronation Street spoilers: Hope Stape sinks to new low with cousin Joseph Brown

SCHOOL life is far from easy for Joseph Brown as both Gemma and Chesney struggle to make ends meet.

But when his cousin Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) gets involved, the schoolboy is almost willing to go to any lengths to fit in with his classmates.

Although their relationship has survived many obstacles, Gemma Winter (Dolly Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) have gone through a rough couple of years since the birth of their quadruplets in 2019.

Their money struggles have had an impact on Joseph as the young boy fails to fit in with his classmates at Weatherfield.

The 10-year-old has already had a rough start to life with the death of his biological mother Katy Armstrong in a tragic car accident in Portugal.

In a brand new Coronation Street episode, scheduled to air on Monday, January 10, Joseph (William Flanagan) seems ready to set things in his favour.

Doing so, he will be getting help from his cousin Hope. However, both children could well be sinking to a new low.

When Joseph reminds his father Chesney that he needs money for a school trip and a new school jumper, he becomes all too aware of his parents' financial woes.

This leads Joseph to confide in Hope that neither his parents have enough money to assure him a place in the upcoming school trip.

But instead of comforting her cousin, Hope hands over her mother Fiz's purse to Joseph, urging him to help himself.

Will Joseph know better or go along with Hope's suggestion?

The latter may be possible as, in a new Corrie plotline, Joseph becomes the victim of school bullies due to his parents' money problems.

This will lead to his father Chesney to take every measure he can to protect his son… subsequently losing him as the young boy will vanish from the family home, bitter after his dad's betrayal.
