RACHEL ALLEN: ALL THINGS SWEET ★★★
Series return, 6pm, SBS Food
So radiant is Irish television chef Rachel Allen, and so convincing her assertion that her dishes are made with natural ingredients, it seems a perfectly reasonable idea to feast on her salted caramel crème brulee and her apricot fool with cardamom shortbread fingers all day. With crystal clear instructions, she demonstrates these and meringues with pink grapefruit curd and cream that look positively to die for.

DISNEYNATURE: WINGS OF LIFE ★★★★
With screen goddess Meryl Streep explaining the “strength of little things” in Louie Schwartzberg’s mesmerising documentary about pollination, the subliminal effect will surely be to drive even the blackest thumb to the local nursery in search of flower seeds to plant. Not since the garden chorused All in the Golden Afternoon in Disney’s classic Alice in Wonderland movie have flowers enjoyed the limelight as much. This is truly beautiful, with an important message.

TOM KERRIDGE’S PROPER PUB FOOD ★★★
Double episode 7.30pm, SBS Food

Tonight, he does his industry no favours at all by demonstrating how to make stomach-lining nosh at home. First up is the good old Sunday roast, followed by some comforting favourites that should keep even the non-drinkers in the family satisfied.
