EastEnders is set for the highly anticipated return of Janine Butcher in next week's episodes.
However, it's not long until she soon goes into battle with Kat Slater over custody of her daughter Scarlett.
Kat, concerned about the girl being in care, decides to reveal the truth to her son Tommy — that Scarlett is his sister, not his cousin.
The discovery only makes Tommy more convinced than ever that Scarlett should live with them. However, at the hearing over her future, Janine makes a surprise appearance and soon fakes an impassioned speech.
Later, Janine heads back to the Square to confront friends and enemies, both old and new.
But when Scarlett then goes missing from care, Janine discovers Scarlett being concealed by Tommy at the Mitchell house.
A scuffle ensues with the youngsters, so no one notices when Scarlett’s jumper comes perilously close to a lit cooker hob. Is tragedy about to strike?
Only recently, Janine actress Charlie Brooks teased an "explosive fire" in Albert Square as she spoke about her dramatic return, which was confirmed in June.
Talking to media, the soap star, 40, said: "We know that it's going to be explosive. We might see some flames and a big fire!
"With some of the relationships, and some of the old characters that we see her working with, for me I know when it's exciting because I can feel it as an actress.
"I can feel it when two characters are sparking off each other. I'm like: 'This feels so good and so exciting'. So you've got a lot of that to look forward to. With her put downs and her wit, the writers have done a brilliant job so far of writing for her."
Janine's biggest storylines included murdering her husband Barry Evans (Shaun Williamson) by pushing him off a cliff on New Year's Day 2004, conspiring with another Walford villain Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb) to defraud the Mitchell family, and murdering her fourth husband Michael Moon (Steve John Shepherd) to escape a custody battle.
She was last seen heading to Paris in 2014 to pick up her daughter Scarlett, whose father was Michael Moon, but her whereabouts have been unknown since then.
Elsewhere on EastEnders, hard-up Gray sends a text message from a burner phone.
Meanwhile, Jean asks Shirley to come to the garage with her – clearly in need of her help.
Later in the week, Shirley's frustration boils over and she finds herself gunning for Phil, who she blames for Tina leaving.
Losing control, Shirley whacks the EastEnders hardman with a baseball bat and Phil collapses to the floor.
