Emmerdale fans baffled by Harriets quick career change back into police force
Emmerdale fans have been left baffled after seeing Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) back in police uniform so quickly.
The former Vicar, who previously worked as a police woman, recently decided to turn her back on the Church due to the guilt of murdering evil DI Mark Malone (Mark Womack).
Viewers of the ITV soap then watched her hold her last Church service on Christmas Day, as she revealed her hopes of rejoining the police force.
But fast forward to the start of this year and Harriet is already working as a police officer again, shadowing PC Swirling (Andy Moore) and helping with the case of missing Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Taking to social media in their droves, viewers commented on the speedy nature of the process, questioning whether Harriet would have been able to get her old job back so speedily.
One said: “No way would Harriet be in uniform so quickly. Even if she was a detective before she’d still need to train again. It’s a long process!”
Another fan added: “Last week Harriet was filling in an application form to rejoin the police after years away.”
“This week she is on the beat. No interview, fitness checks, DB checks or refresher training.”
A third commented: “How did Harriet get straight back into the police when only last week she was a vicar?”
While others asked if it was realistic that Harriet would be working on such an important case after so long away from the force.

This comes after viewers blasted the former Vicar’s efforts to track down Manpreet, who is currently being held hostage by her murdering sister Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
After Manpreet’s ex-husband Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) reported her missing, Harriet and PC Swirling arrived in the village to get answers.
But as Meena spun them a web of lies about Manpreet being on holiday in Ibiza to see her daughter, they failed to ask important follow-ups and let the guilty woman walk free.
Picking up on their blunder, soaps fans asked why PC Swirling and Harriet hadn’t done their job properly, pointing out they’d missed a chance to gain vital evidence.
Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Surely they would check the flights and airport #emmerdale."
A different account put: "Why is nobody going in the house ?! Me head is gonna explode #emmerdale."
