Emmerdale star Joe Warren Plant’s future on Dancing On Ice in jeopardy as he suffers painful knee injury

EMMERDALE star Joe Warren Plant's future on Dancing On Ice is in jeopardy after he suffered a painful knee injury.

The 18-year-old actor revealed he'd been forced to miss today's training session to undergo physiotherapy, which he documented on his Instagram Story.

Joe also admitted that it was "frustrating" that he is suffering so badly with his knee, with it a historical condition that he thought he'd overcome – and he'd originally been willing to skate through the pain.

Taking to his main Instagram page, the teen posted a photo of himself on the ice rink alongside his professional partner Vanessa Bauer.

Joe has his head in his hands and Vanessa is looking at him with a concerned frown on her face.

The star captioned the post: "Absolutely gutted…..

"So we had to cancel today’s training session due to my ongoing knee injury!😫

"It’s unbelievably frustrating as I really felt like it had healed! I’m not one to give up when I feel a little bit of pain and I was willing to carry on but it’s important for me to take a step back, not get too carried away with it and take it easy."

He then joked: "Kneed to get this under control….😉😂"

Filming himself at physio, Joe added: "I am currently here at physio with a cold compression on my knee, it sucks that we had to miss training this morning.

"For the past two weeks since we started, my knee hasn't been causing me any pain or discomfort whatsoever so I automatically thought it was healing and getting better.

"Yesterday I took it a little too far and I feel like I am back to square one with it.

"It's an injury I've had for months and I have found myself in a cycle where it gets better, it's healing, then boom it happens again.

"I just need to take the precautions necessary and get it under control."

Joe is best known for playing Jacob Gallagher in Emmerdale, and he previously revealed that he needed to take six months away from the soap to compete on DOI.

On screen, his exit will be explained by Jacob leaving the village to visit his mum Alicia in Portugal – but Joe confirmed he'll be returning to Emmerdale once the competition is over next year.

Dancing On Ice will hit our screens in January, with Myleene Klass, Rufus Hound, and Billie Faiers also among the stars taking part.
