Get To Know Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin Before Their Show 'Get Organized' Drops
If you’ve spent the last few months in quarantine looking around your house or apartment thinking, “I desperately need to get rid of some junk and organize this hell hole,” you’re in luck, because there’s about to be a Netflix show for that. In the style of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, this Wednesday, the company is dropping Get Organized with The Home Edit. The show follows Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin as they enter the homes of both celebrities and regular families to organize the crap out of one space. But when I saw the trailer, my first thought was, “Wait, who are these two seemingly fabulous women? And why do I not know absolutely every fact about them?” Here’s everything you need to know about Clea and Joanna before the show drops.
Okay, so who are these ladies?
That’s obviously what we’re here to talk about. Clea and Joanna are friends who started a home organization business in Nashville called The Home Edit. Their goal was to make organizing pretty again, Basically, these women wanted to give people the tools to transform their homes and make them look really, really great in the process.
You’ve probably seen pictures of their work on Instagram.
They have a massive following on Insta (1.7 million followers, to be exact), and scrolling through their feed is legit like looking at organization porn. I mean… look at this closet.
And check out what they did to this pantry:

We just virtually organized @emilyley’s pantry and love how it turned out! Through FaceTime, we measured the space, setup a plan and shopping list, and put Emily to work purging all the expired items (you wouldn’t believe how much is expired once you start looking at dates!) 💙 In-home organizing + online services can be scheduled by emailing [email protected] ✨ To shop THE feed, tap link in bio or go to thehomeedit.com/shop ✨ #thehomeedit #pantry #getorganized
They place a lot of emphasis on color, which is why things are organized in a ROYGBIV pattern, and they also really love a good container. Who doesn’t!? But seriously, you need to go follow them.
They have many celebrity clients.
These girls have fans in high places. If you scroll through their Instagram, you can see the names of people like Khloe Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, and more. Here’s a picture of what they did to Kim Kardashian’s pantry. Yeah, Kim Kardashian. Ever heard of her?
I’m living for this pic of them with Dan Levy.
It looks like the show is going to bring the women into the houses of some of their celeb clients, which I am absolutely pumped about. There is nothing more voyeuristic than looking at a celebrity’s closet.
On top of the new Netflix show, they have a book you can read.
They published their first book in 2019, which is part of what boosted their profile so much. It’s called The Home Edit: A Guide to Organizing and Realizing Your House Goals, and it’s a New York Times Bestseller, casual. This book goes room-by-room to help you organize, so if the show just isn’t enough for you, don’t worry! You can buy it here.
