Gogglebox legend reveals show bans stars from appearing on other shows and once cast quit they can NEVER return

GOOGLEBOX star Sandra Martin has claimed that once you quit the show you can never go back.

The reality star lifted the lid on life after the show as fans begged her to return following her exit in 2017.

She appeared on the sofa from the very first episode alongside her best pal Sandi Bogle, but felt the show wasn’t the same after Sandi quit.

Sandra told her followers:  “Apparently when you leave you can’t go back…but Channel 4 know me and my TV partner go back the ratings will go sky high. But unfortunately Channel 4 likes it like this.”

She went on to say that you are unable to take part in any other show while on Gogglebox.

She explained: “After Sandi left I miss her so much.. plus it was a contract show.. you can’t  do certain  shows like big brother if you on GOGGLEBOX.. anyway am happy. 5 yearz on sofa was good enough.”

Sandra was due to appear on Celebrity Big Brother when she left but lost her place after talking about it too much.

She has however appeared on a number of other shows including Celebrity First Dates and 100 years younger in 21 days.

A series of stars have left the programme over the years in favour of other TV opportunities, such as Scarlett Moffatt who quit to take part in I’m A Celebrity.

The star previously revealed what it was like working on the show describing how she and Sandi watched eight hours of TV-a-week, over two evenings, with that whittled down to a few minutes of the one-hour show.

She said: "They’d come at 2pm or 4pm, set up the equipment by 6pm and by 10pm they’re out.

"It was easy in-and-out job. But when I watch them doing the show now, I think ‘boring’.”

Among the perks of filming were two free dinners a week and a runner to tailor to your every need.

Sandra said: "The crew would buy me takeaway every night and they’d have takeaway too. We had all the menu leaflets – KFC, Burger King, Chinese, McDonald’s.

"We had a runner who gets everything we want, although we didn’t take the p**s, he was our friend. There was a camera man, a sound man, five people in total."
