Its only a cold!’ Madeley loses it as Nana Akua says sick people should stay at home
Good Morning Britain welcomed Nana Akua onto the early morning news programme on Tuesday to join a debate about getting people back to work. Presenters Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid led the discussion about whether or not people should still go into the workplace if they have a cold. Richard blasted Nana when the pair failed to agree on the matter.
Nana made it clear she thought unwell workers should be staying at home, remarking: “I think it’s just common sense.”
However, Richard hit back at the guest: “Well it depends how sick you are surely?
“I mean if you take the Covid tests and you’re negative and your cold is really horrible and you’ve got a thumping headache, well then sure maybe for your own sake spend the day in a warm bed.
“But, if you feel that you’re capable of getting up and about again and contributing back into society, surely you should go back to work?

“Otherwise we’re going to be isolating forever,” he exclaimed.
Nana insisted: “No, we’re not. No, we’re not. No, if you are ill and you’re feeling better then that’s a different argument.
“But, if you’re sick and you come into work then you’re potentially infecting other people,” she said.
“But, it’s only a cold!” Richard fumed. “It’s not going to kill you, it’s just a cold!”
More to come…
