The supernatural drama series Manifest has been an unexpected hit with fans. However, NBC recently cancelled the series after three seasons, which has left audiences devastated. Though, a recent update has provided fans with hope that the series could be returning again soon as the show is becoming increasingly popular on Netflix.
Manifest, which follows a group of airline passengers after they suddenly reappear after being presumed dead for five years, first aired in 2018.
After the passengers return, they soon face their grieving loved ones and struggle to adjust back to regular life.
However, the series takes a supernatural turn when the survivors begin to experience voices and visions of the future.
Despite its cancellation, record viewing figures at Netflix have hinted that Manifest could live again.
Due to its success on Netflix, could the show return for a season four on the streaming network?
As Forbes reports, Manifest is quickly climbing the charts on Netflix’s Top 10 list.
The series looks set to be one of Netflix’s most popular ever shows as it has been revealed the show is in the number one position for its consecutive 23rd day.
Only two other series, Ginny & Georgia and Tiger King, have managed this in the past.
This report has got fans hoping that the show’s popularity amongst audiences will make the streaming network buy the series and renew Manifest for a fourth season.
On Twitter, one fan said: “Yes! we need to #savemanifest !! BEST. SHOW. EVER.”
Another wote: “Just finished season 3. Need more!! There’s a reason it is sitting at #1 on Netflix! #SaveManifest @netflix.”
“Omg…. I’m praying @netflix picks this up!!! It’s one of my absolute favorite shows [love heart emoji and praying hands emoji],” someone else commented.
The hashtag #SaveManifest has been trending ever since the cancellation was announced.
But will networks finally listen as it has been proven that there is a large, dedicated fanbase who don’t want to lose the show?
Another passionate fan took to Twitter, begging Netflix to renew the series: “Still thinking about Manifest on a daily. That’s how much this show means to me.
“We need Seasons 4-6 @netflix needs to realize their mistake and give us fans what we want. #SaveManifest #FinishTheStory.” (sic)
While Netflix is known for cancelling shows after only a few series, it has also resurrected other series from different networks, most notably Lucifer.
The fact that Manifest is already in the Top 25 and it isn’t even a Netflix-produced show proves that the series is worth saving.
Forbes also reports that Manifest’s numbers are especially impressive as the series has only been a member of the Top 10 charts for less than a month, so hopefully, all this means that fans’ prayers will be answered sometime soon.
Manifest was created by Jeff Rake and stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, JR Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, and Holly Taylor.
Manifest is currently available to watch on NBC in the US, and on Sky in the UK.
