Natasha Lyonne Wants To Portray A Popular Batman Villain
Penguin hasn’t appeared in a Batman live theatrical film in nearly three decades now, but Orange Is The New Black star Natasha Lyonne would like to change that.
So Far, The Batman has cast two primary villains: Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman/Selina Kyle and Paul Dano as Riddler. If director Matt Reeves has any desire to cast Penguin, then he might want to consider giving Lyonne a call.
At the 2019 Gotham Awards, Lyonne expressed her desire to one day portray The Penguin in a Batman movie, although she requested they “keep Danny DeVito because I think we’d play nicely off each other.”
To date, DeVito is the only actor to have portrayed Penguin in a live film. He performed the role in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, which hit the theaters back in 1992. The star-studded cast saw Micheal Keaton reprise is role as the Caped Crusader, while Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed Catwoman.
The Christopher Nolan trilogy didn’t include some of the main villains from the Rogue’s Gallery, including Riddler, Penguin, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Of course, Nygma is finally making a return to the big screens, but whether or not the latter three will follow is up in the air.

Aside from Kravitz and Dano, The Batman cast also features Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.
Reeves and Pattinson replaced Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck as the director and actor for the Batman movie franchise, respectively. The last two Batman films were met with largely negative reviews, so the pressure is on Reeves and co. to put on something epic.
