Rita Ora is 'totally serious' about boyfriend Taika Waititi as he meets her parents for the first time

SHE’s one of the world’s most eligible women – but Rita Ora has been unlucky in love . . .  until now.

The How We Do singer has touched down in London with boyfriend Taika Waititi for the first time – and I’m told wasted no time in introducing him to her parents.

But on top of that, I hear things between the pair are now “really serious” – something that looked clear as day when they attended this weekend’s MTV EMA awards. Should I buy a hat?

Rita is currently working in London on her new album – after jetting to Budapest for the weekend for the awards bash.

She looked so good on the red carpet Taika even larked about taking some snaps of his own – though who could blame him.

The pair are thought to be staying in town for a few weeks, after she had her new mansion renovated – despite rumours it’s haunted.

Let’s hope he’s a brave chap.

ADELE has revealed she now accepts why her dad walked out on her when she was three years old.

In an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey, the superstar said she found peace with her late father Mark Evans, who suffered from alcohol addiction, before his death in May.

Adele recalled “my dad’s absolute lack of presence and effort” but added: “I finally understood that it was the alcohol.” Although Mark left the family home, the pair were in contact until 2011, when they fell out over an interview he gave claiming Adele struggled with abandonment issues.

He went on to say his issues with alcohol meant he did not want to stay, saying he was a “rotten” father who was drinking two litres of vodka and eight cans of strong lager a day.

Following his death, Adele said she reconsidered her own relationship with alcohol, telling Oprah: “It took my dad from me. Once I realised I had to do a lot to work on myself, I stopped drinking and started working out a lot.”

Adele also said the fractured relationship with her dad meant she struggled in relationships. Explaining it to Oprah, the singer said she tended to lash out and hurt first in a bid for self preservation.

Adele welled up as she spoke about Mark, revealing she finally felt at peace when they made amends before he died. Playing him her new album 30, which is out on Friday, was a huge moment for Adele. She said her dad had found it too painful to listen to her songs and only knew the 2007 track Hometown Glory.

She said: “He would switch it off and he never ever played any of my other music.” She added about their relationship: “I felt that huge, gaping hole filled. We forgave each other. We found our peace together and then I played the album to him on Zoom.”

Adele, now dating sports agent Rich Paul, also chatted frankly again about the breakdown of her marriage to US businessman Simon Konecki, saying she felt disappointed they could not make things work for their son Angelo.

She said: “I take marriage very seriously and it seems like I don’t. That’s what it should be. When we have kids, we stay together, and I tried. I was so disappointed for my son, I was so disappointed for myself.”

Britney’s ‘termination plan’

BRITNEY SPEARS’ adviser will be keeping details of the pop superstar’s post- conservatorship plan well out of reach of her dad Jamie.

US website TMZ reports that Jodi Montgomery filed legal documents regarding a “termination plan”, which will help Britney adjust to life outside of the 14-year conservatorship that had meant her dad controlling her finances.

Jamie will not be privy to any of it, with the paperwork banning anyone apart from Britney’s lawyer and the judge seeing the plan.

JUSTIN BIEBER has announced his first full tour here since 2016 – but you’ll have to wait more than a year to see him.

The Canadian singer will play in over 20 countries for his Justice World Tour, which will arrive in the UK during February 2023 and include gigs in Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield.

His last tour saw him play to 2.7million UK fans in 2017.

He said: “We’ve been working hard to create the best show we’ve done, and can’t wait to share it with fans.”

SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR will tomorrow throw one of her iconic Kitchen Disco’s but this time there is a twist. The singer will dance for 24 hours straight to raise cash for BBC Radio 2’s fundraising effort for Children In Need.

And Sophie isn’t taking any chances, with a specialist physiotherapist on hand for the duration in case she gets an injury. In an exclusive chat ahead of her amazing feat, Sophie said: “I’ll be with an amazing physio called Professor Greg Whyte who will advise me. I’ll burn around 6000 calories so he said he’ll be feeding me constantly to keep my energy up.

“I think a margarita cocktail at midnight would be a good idea but I don’t think it’s on the list of snacks but I want to see if I can persuade Greg.

"I remember Tess Daly struggled with motion sickness when she did a 24 hour danceathon for Children In Need with Claudia Winkleman and when I watched back the footage they did a lot of side stepping. My plan is to mix it up and keep lots of variation. If something happens I will just dance on.”

You can watch Sophie live on the red button and on BBC iPlayer from tomorrow morning, while live updates will play out across Radio 2. The Murder On The Dancefloor star added: “I have been to four projects which benefit from Children In Need funding, from hospices to community centres, I have seen where your money goes.

“There is no way you could look into the faces of those children and think it’s not worth £5. Please forgive the quality of my dancing but I promise your money is going to a good place.” Dig deep, folks.

FORGET her hosting skills, it was MTV EMAs presenter Saweetie’s talent for quick changes that really wowed the viewers.

The rapper wore 12 outfits for the bash, including two looks on the red carpet alone.

Saweetie, who performed a medley of hits at the show in Budapest, certainly cracked the whip with her stylist ahead of her appearance there.

During the ceremony, which will be repeated on MTV at 7pm today, she rubbed shoulders with a load of A- listers and took a shine to Best Rock winners Maneskin, who had equally eye-catching outfits.

But they are used to being around huge stars now, having supported the Rolling Stones in the US and gained a fan in Mick Jagger, who gushed about them on Instagram.

On the red carpet, bassist Victoria De Angelis said: “He was very nice. It was quite insane. When we were talking to him I was like, ‘Is this real?’ We met backstage and spent some time together.”

I’M not surprised Little Mix won the MTV EMA for Best UK & Ireland Act – they have to be the hardest-working group in pop right now.

Not only did they film five videos while Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock were pregnant, but I can also reveal they will drop a remix video for their new single No in a few weeks.

A source said: “Fans think the video that dropped on Friday is it. But the girls are releasing a new re-edited version for the GALANTIS remix of the song.

“Despite being heavily pregnant, the girls were so obsessed with getting their moves right that as the shoot was about to wrap, Leigh-Anne asked for another take to make it perfect.

“Everyone was tired but kept in high spirits. Jade was joking that Perrie’s heavy make-up made her look like a cast member of American Horror Story.”

As of yesterday, Little Mix’s Between Us Greatest Hits album was just nine copies behind Taylor Swift’s Red re-release in the midweek album sales. I’ve got a feeling they will pip her to the post.
