Silent Witness viewers left open-mouthed by prisoner's VERY unusual cause of death
SILENT Witness fans were baffled by a prisoner's very bizarre cause of death.
BBC One viewers tuned in to find out how prisoner Jay died on Monday's episode.
But the mystery surrounding his death became even more unclear with various causes speculated by Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox).
It was initially believed that Jay had been beaten up, but this was later changed to hypothermia.
During the episode, the cause of death was again changed to a food allergy and finally a bee sting.
Viewers at home could not keep up with the varying of causes of death.
In last night's episode, Nikki was called to the high-security prison to investigate how the inmate died.
The doctor was convinced that prisoner Scott Weston, played by Elliot Tittensor, had murdered Jay.
But later on, Nikki noted that Jay may have suffered an anaphylactic shock, from a food allergy.
Things took another turn when Nikki discovered that Jay was allergic to bee stings.
She told Jack, who said: "So, he didn't die as a result of the food he ate."
"No," she replied, adding: "I guess he was stung."
Viewers were left scratching their heads and joked that they were unable to keep up.
One wrote: "I’ve lost count of the possible cause of death for this guy – beaten up, frozen, stamped on, or a bee sting #SilentWitness."
Another shared: "It was the bee wot dunnit #SilentWitness."
A third posted: "I'm also losing it at bee venom."
"Who tf puts bee venom in skin cream!? that's an accident waiting to happen #silentwitness," a fourth added.
One hilariously commented: "Are they actually going to make their mind up about what killed this man??? #SilentWitness."
It was revealed that "bee venom" in Jay's skin cream had caused the allergic reaction.
They discovered that his mum was behind it all,but her plan to break him out of prison had clearly gone awry.
Silent Witness continues on Monday at 9pm on BBC One.
