Snowpiercer is a dystopian thriller series which is due to air on Netflix and it is based on the film of the same name. Both the series and film were inspired by a French graphic novel series, which tells the story of a huge train which carries survivors of the end of the world. Here is everything you need to know about what time the episodes will drop on the streaming platform.

What time does Snowpiercer come out?

Unlike Netflix Original series, the TV series has already started airing on TNT in the US, so Netflix does not have the rights to drop all the episodes at once.

Instead, the first two episodes will drop on Netflix on Monday, May 25, with those in the US able to watch them as of midnight.

For fans in the UK, Netflix usually drops new episodes at 8am due to time difference.

The remaining eight episodes of this 10-part series will then drop weekly from June 1, at the same time each week.

The episodes will drop the day after they air on TNT in America, with the finale airing on July 20.

This means fans will not be able to binge-watch this series, and they will be left in suspense waiting for the next episode.

For fans of the film and graphic novels who are keen to watch the series but do not have Netflix, they can set up a subscription in the UK from £8.99 per month.

Fans in the US can create an account with prices starting from $12.99 per month, and account holders will have access to the latest episodes straight away.

Each episode is 50 minutes long, and they will only be available on Netflix, so sadly fans with accounts for alternative streaming platforms will not be able to watch it.

The release date for the series was brought forward by TNT following the lockdown during the coronavirus outbreak, as a treat for fans.

Netflix UK and Ireland posted the trailer for the highly anticipated series on its Twitter account, and fans are already excited.

The post said: “A new chapter in the Snowpiercer story – Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly star in a new series, due to depart on 25 May.”

They clarified the series is set in the same universe as the film, but it tells a different story.

The streaming service added: “The first two episodes will be available on the 25th, and it’ll be weekly thereafter to follow the US schedule.”

One fan said on Twitter: “Really looking forward to watching this one since I watched the film on my PS4, so it’s something for me to look forward to.”

Fans have asked whether Netflix will be adding the film to the streaming platform so it can be watched at the same time.

Netflix has not responded with an official answer, but if fans want to watch the film online they can rent it from Prime Video.

One fan said on Twitter: “I did not see the original movie but I loved the first episode, can’t wait to see more.”

For those who have already started watching the series on TNT, they have given mixed reviews, with some saying it resembles a “cop show”.

Nonetheless, fans have been waiting a long time to see more of the Snowpiercer since the film aired.
