The Netflix sci-fi drama is currently filming the next instalment, and photos snapped from the Stranger Things set show Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) being carried away on a stretcher, with the character using an oxygen machine. This and other photos don’t paint a good picture for the character, whose fate has always been painted in an ominous light by the show. Fans firmly believed Eleven was dead following season one, but the next episodes revealed she was in fact alive. Could the new series see Eleven die – for good?

Other photos promise some explosive scenes as the 1980s-based story continues.

Some pictures show armed guards and police scouring through the remains of a demolished Hawkins building.

Another depicts emergency services lining the streets in the aftermath of some unknown drama – what has taken place?

It hasn’t been revealed what exactly was going on in the scenes, but things aren’t looking great for Eleven.

The hit Netflix show is set in the fictional US town of Hawkins, Indiana, and follows a group of youngsters as they uncover some harrowing secrets of their “sleepy” town.

The latest episode of season three suggested that Jim Hopper (David Harbour) had died, but there were a few teasers hinting that he was actually alive and being imprisoned.

Could season four see Jim return, only for Eleven to end up dying?

Stranger Things doesn’t shy away from killing off favourite characters, and some heartbreaking scenes from previous seasons saw Bob Newby, (Sean Astin) Dr. Alexei, (Alec Utgoff) and Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery) dying in front of their friends.

Eleven has come close to death many times, but usually, her powers end up saving her.

But with season four promising to be packed with drama, could the youngster meet her end in the upcoming episodes?

The chaotic pictures certainly suggest she is once again badly injured and unable to move.

With the plot of the new series being kept tightly under wraps by producers, it’s possible that something huge will happen, although no major secrets are being given away just yet.

But bosses have confirmed four more additions for the main cast.

Production is currently underway in Georgia and is expected to wrap up in the coming weeks in time for an early 2022 release.

Last week, the show’s official Twitter teased four new characters who will be integral to the plot of the new season.

This included Irish-Canadian star Amy McNulty as Vickie, who previously portrayed Anne Shirley in CBC’s adaptation of Anne of Green Gables, Anne with an E.

The announcement described Vickie as ‘a cool, fast-talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.’

Vickie seems to be joining the series as a potential love interest for one of the Hawkins gang.

Other newcomers include Myles Truitt as Patrick, Regina Ting Chen as Ms Kelly and Grace Van Dien as Chrissy, the school’s most popular cheerleader who has been hiding a dark secret.

Stranger Things series one to three is available to stream on Netflix.
