Ranvir Singh was announced as one of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing contestants and ahead of seeing her on the dance floor, the Good Morning Britain presenter has spoken out about being Strictly-fied. It seems the one thing Ranvir is bothered about is the undergarments and she has struck a deal with the costume department to hold everything in place.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Ranvir said: “There’s no secret mate! I put on a stone during lockdown.
“So the poor wardrobe people I said: ‘Listen, I don’t mind what you do on the outside. What I care about is the strength of the support underwear.
“’It has to be the best you’ve got like just suck it all in!’
“And honestly, I’ll have fat earlobes and fat ankles and fat fingers because they will have pushed it all out! That’s fine,” she joked.
“As long as they can hold it all in and make me look as streamlined as is magically possible – and Strictly is all about the magic – then I’ll be happy.
“I’m not even sure I need to breathe.
“As long as I can hold my breath for three minutes or however long the dance is – have St John Ambulance on the sidelines for fainting through lack of oxygen!” Ranvir laughed off.
As for how her Strictly journey has been so far, Ranvir added: “I’m happy…I love it all!”
“They’ve already shown me a wig, an enormous wig in the hair department.
“I was like: “Yes, bring it on! I just want it all.’
“Well, where else can I get a chance to do this? There’s no point being shy about anything really? You just gotta go with it,” the political editor continued.
As for why Ranvir wants to take part in the nation’s favourite dance competition, she said: “I think the reason is that it’s the most joyous programme and you know that it’s a real privilege to be asked to be on it.

“It’s a real milestone, it’s a career high – it’s everything isn’t it?
“Strictly is about actually learning a skill. I haven’t learned anything from scratch for years.
“I just have my head down and worked really hard and now all of a sudden, there’s this beautiful chance to learn something completely different from scratch.
“I hope my brain works, my body works and I’m up for a challenge,” she remarked.
Ranvir stars alongside Nicola Adams OBE and EastEnders star Maisie Smith.
Bill Bailey and Caroline Quentin have also signed up alongside The Wanted’s Max George, JJ Chalmers and Jason Bell.
Jamie Laing will also return after he was forced to pull out due to injury last year.
