Strictly Come Dancing star Tom Fletcher has revealed he will be dancing to Fly Me To The Moon this weekend but it has been incredibly tough.

The McFly guitarist appeared on The One Show alongside dance partner Amy Dowden on Thursday night where he admitted that he is normally ok with performing but the show has thrown him out of his comfort zone.

Last week, Tom, 36, and Amy returned to the show after being forced to miss a week due to the musician contracting Covid-19.

However, he claims that the show has become more stressful than ever as he prepares to showcase his best moves once again.

Discussing his upcoming Foxtrot, he told Sam Quek and Ronan Keating: "It's been the toughest week so far, I think I've realised you feel like you're making progress going from the Cha Cha to the Jive and this is like starting again.

"Monday was a really tough day because you just think 'everything I've learnt means nothing now, it's a completely different technique.'"

He added: "Yeah, it's been the toughest week so far by miles."

Discussing last Saturday's performance, Tom revealed that he and Amy only had two days to train for their Jive before dancing in front of the judges and viewers at home.

"It was a bit more natural, whereas this is completely out of my comfort zone," he explained.

Tom added: "It's elegant and classy and sophisticated," before Amy joked: "everything McFly is," before erupting into laughter.

After revealing they would be dancing to Fly Me To The Moon, Tom praised Amy, saying that the choreography is "incredible".

Following the news that Robert Webb has decided to withdraw from the completion and the news that rugby ace Ugo Monye would be missing a week, both due to medical issues, Tom said: "It's awful, it's the worst. Strictly is an amazing experience and we get one chance, the pros get to come back every year and be in this amazing family, we only get to do it once, so having to taking time off or leave must be so hard.

"We feel so sorry for them both, it's an amazing experience and nobody wants to be the one sat at home watching it go on without you, so we're sending all our love to Ugo and Robert."
