Strictly’s Bill Bailey favourite to win 2020 series as he collapses before final
Strictly Come Dancing star and comedian Bill Bailey, 55, is the favourite to win the Glitterball trophy for the 2020 series.
Bill has been wowing the judges each week with his dance partner Oti Mabuse, and looks set to claim victory tonight.
The TV star hasn't been in the bottom two all throughout the competition despite being the underdog of the series, and has stunned with his impressive dancing skills.
Bill and Oti will be facing off against reality star Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer, Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez and HRVY and Janette Manrara.
But according to the bookies, he looks set to be crowned the winner, with odds of 8/11.
HRVY is second favourite at 7/4, while Maisie has a 6/1 shot with Jamie, whose place in the final sparked controversy, is at 50/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "There's 34 years between them but it's Bill who heads the betting heading into the Strictly final, with HRVY just behind as things stand."
This comes after Bill revealed that he collapsed during his final rehearsals with Oti ahead of the big show, as the gruelling precise took its toll.
Writing in his Strictly column for The Telegraph, he said: "The long day's training must have taken it out of me, and the result was, as I started to rise, stylishly, not domestically, my legs just stopped working.
"I froze in mid-air, and slowly toppled over onto one side.
"It looked like I’d been hit by a tranquiliser dart, in order to be put on a flatbed truck and moved to a different part of the game reserve."
Let's hope Bill will make a swift recovery to dance his last three dances of the 2020 series, as viewers of the show get ready to find out the 2020 winner.
Strictly concludes at 6pm on BBC1, Saturday December 19, 2020.
