Dermot O'Leary told his co-star Alison Hammond to "shut up" on Wednesday's edition of This Morning, after she accused him of having an enormous makeup bag backstage.
The presenting duo was joined by cosmetics guru Sarah Jossel on the show, as she showcased the best multi-tasking makeup sticks on the market.
Ahead of the segment, Dermot made out like he knew nothing about makeup, only for Alison to immediately put him in his place.
"Stop making out like you don't use makeup," she jibed, adding: "His makeup bag is bigger than mine!"
Anyone appearing before the harsh lights of the studio is required to wear makeup, with a team of stylists and cosmetic artists backstage helping to beautify each presenter.
Dermot immediately started objecting, prompting Alison to ask the backstage crew to dig up his bag of cosmetics for the cameras.
The This Morning makeup artist waved a sizeable camouflage toiletry bag before the cameras, demonstrating Dermot does indeed have a hefty collection of makeup.
"He does use a lot of makeup," Alison conceded.
Dermot had enough at this point, and swiped: "Shut up!"
He then asked the ITV team to produce Alison's makeup back for comparison, jibing: "Let's get your one in there. Get the old Tardis out."
The lockdown meant each of the stars of ITV was forced to do their own makeup, as social distancing restrictions made it impossible for the cosmetics team to work their magic.
Filming himself from his dressing room last year, Phillip Schofield said: “Well, this is a first. No glam squad now, I’ve just made myself up.
“Do I look alright?,” he asked Holly, who replied: “I think you look like you. Do I look like me?”
“You’ve done yourself too, it’s just the two of us. Normally this makeup room is a hotbed for gossip and goodness knows what. There’s no teams now, but the gossip is still going!,” Phillip then joked.
Thankfully, things have gone somewhat back to normal, with the makeup team wearing face masks for protection when applying products to the stars.
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
