Vinnie Jones ‘lined up to take part in celebrity X Factor’ ahead of wife Tanya’s tragic death

Vinnie Jones was lined up to take part in the celebrity version of The X Factor before the death of his wife, according to reports.

The actor’s wife tragically lost her six-year long battle with cancer at the age of 53 at the weekend.

Tanya’s death is now thought to have left Vinnie’s involvement in the upcoming series “up in the air.”

A source told Daily Star Online: “Vinnie was all set to film the show this week but after Tanya’s devastating death everything is up in the air.

“Obviously Vinnie’s well-being comes first and there is zero pressure for him to start filming with The X Factor if he doesn’t want to.

“Producers are keen to give him space right now and just want to make sure he is ok, they have made it clear they will support him whatever he decides to do.

“Filming is in LA where Vinnie lives so it’s possible no decision will be made until the last minute.”

Tanya died at home in Los Angeles surrounded by her family, a spokesperson confirmed at the weekend.

Vinnie’s spokesman told The Sun: “Tanya passed peacefully at the Jones family home surrounded by Vinnie, their daughter and other family members.

“Vinnie and the family ask for privacy while they go through an understandable period of mourning during this devastating time.”

Speaking about Tanya’s diagnosis in 2013, the actor said: “When it comes to things like this, women are stronger.

“Suddenly I've gone from the one helping her to the one that needs support. I take my strength from Tanya. She believes her life was saved to save me, and in return I feel it is my role to look after her.”

OK! online reported last week that TOWIE stars Yazmin Oukhellou, Megan McKenna and Gemma Collins and Love Island favourites Zara McDermott, Wes Nelson, Samira Mighty and Eyal Booker are all set to join the line-up of the competition.
