Who is the Beetroot on The Masked Dancer?

Hoping to Beet all their rivals to the top spot and become the winner of The Masked Dancer is Beetroot.

Fans on social media have been rooting for the costumed competitors success since the announcement of the shows wacky line up.

What are the fan theories?

After a post introducing newcomer Beetroot was made on The Masked Dancer UK's official Instagram page (@maskedsingeruk), fans have started to speculate who the dancing veggie might be.

Leaving their suggestions in the comments section of the Instagram post, many believe that Beetroot may be a very familiar face.

"This could be Rita (Ora)", one fan wrote.

The singer was previously a judge on The Masked Dancer's sister show and fans believe she may be making a return to the show as a contestant.

Another fan speculated "I'm already thinking Beetroot is Dianne Buswell".

The Australian redhead is best known for her appearances as a professional dancer on BBC's Strictly come Dancing and fans of the show suspect the choice of a beet as a costume may be a nod to Buswell's flaming locks.
