Cat given ketamine after being ‘aggressive at vet’ – and he looks high as a kite

A video of an unlucky cat "high" on ketamine while being comforted by his owner has had viewers laughing out loud.

The ginger tom, owned by 22-year-old Kirsten in Canada, was filmed getting a cuddle on her hoodie while he stared into space with his mouth wide open.

In the clip, the woozy kitty also sways from side to side as he looks as if he is seeing butterflies.

Kirsten confessed that the cat, called Neo, was a troublemaker and hated everyone except her, so taking him to the vet was tricky and, in this case, they decided to sedate him.

In the caption, she explained: "Took him for his yearly check up. He was too aggressive, so they had to give him ketamine.

"They sent him home before he came to so he wouldn't attack them."

Unsurprisingly, the video has been a massive hit on TikTok when Kristen uploaded it a few days ago, getting more than 890,000 views and hundreds of comments.

Posting the crying and laughing emoji, one user quipped: "I wish people would give me ketamine to make me easier to deal with."

A second person commented: "I worked in a vets for 6 months and I loved seeing cats coming out of ketamine I would sit there and laugh so hard."

"Hahaha I do not know why this made me laugh so hard, said another.

A fourth commented: "I needed this laugh today ohmahgod."

This comes after a cat with an "Irish accent" went viral after it was filmed meowing at its owner – who is convinced he has picked up a Northern Irish twang.

And a tiny rescue kitten just three weeks old was filmed snuggling up to its adopter, with people commenting they'd "never felt so jealous".

In a similar tale, a man turned up an animal shelter for a dog but was "chosen" by a persistent kitten with a big voice.
