Dead man found rolled up in red carpet outside Harlem Starbucks
A man’s lifeless body was found rolled up inside a red carpet outside of a Starbucks in Harlem early Thursday, police said.
The grisly discovery was made by a passerby who noticed two feet sticking out of the carpet outside of the java chain at the corner of West 145th Street and Bradhurst Avenue just before 6 a.m., cops said.
The witness quickly called the police who found that the man inside the carpet was unconscious and unresponsive.
Medics responded and the man – whose identity was not immediately known – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say that the man, who was found clothed, did not have any signs of trauma.
The city’s Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
Starbucks’ exterior was cordoned off with police tape Thursday morning as authorities investigated.
