Disturbing video shows crowd harassing cops during Philadelphia shooting

As Philadelphia cops responded to the chaotic scene where a gunman allegedly shot some of their own, a crowd of neighbors jeered, shoved and even appeared to hurl objects at them, disturbing new video shows.

Video originally posted by Twitter user @BrookelynnML shows a group of officers converging on the scene where Maurice Hill, 36, was holed up in his home — where authorities had initially responded to serve a drug warrant.

As the officers try to weave their way through a crowd of onlookers, a woman can be seen saying something to an officer before shoving him.

Dozens more can be heard laughing at the cops, screaming and swearing — as others simply stand and film the scene on their phones.

At least one person can be seen throwing objects — though it’s not clear what — at the officers.

“Yelling, screaming, and throwing things at officers that have PROTECTED YOU for 4 hours during an active shooting? Classy,” the Twitter user wrote. “WTH is wrong with you?”

She posted the video around 8:30 p.m., hours before Hill ultimately surrendered to authorities after midnight.

CBS Philadelphia reporter Alexandria Hoff tweeted that she too was harassed as she covered the tense scene.
