After 55 long years since England won the World Cup in 1966, the England football team has finally made it to the final of a major tournament again. England fans are hoping the team will be able to win the Euro 2020 final on home turf on Sunday, with thousands expected to watch the action live at Wembley Stadium. Here is the weather forecast for the England v Italy match on Sunday.

What is the weather forecast for Wembley Stadium on Sunday?

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact weather forecast for an area like Wembley Stadium.

But according to the Met Office website, highs of 21C are possible for Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with lows of 14C forecast overnight.

However, by the time kick-off rolls around at 8pm, the temperature could be a bit cooler than 21C.

The weather forecast for 7pm on Sunday predicts 19C for Wembley, but there could also be some rain at this time.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain at 7pm, but this jumps to 60 percent at 10pm.

WXCHARTS maximum temperature charts suggest a similar forecast for Wembley Stadium on Sunday, with highs of 19C possible at 6pm UTC (7pm BST).

At 9pm UTC (10pm BST), WXCHARTS maps predict maximum temperatures of 16.4C for Wembley on Sunday.

What is the weather forecast for London on Sunday?

For London in general, the Met Office is predicting a weekend of unsettled weather ahead.

Meteorologist Greg Dewhurst told i: “[The UK] is in a scenario, and will continue to be for the next week, where we’ll see a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.”

The worst of this rain is forecast for Saturday and Monday, with Sunday mostly cloudy with sunny intervals.

From Sunday and in the days to follow, London may expect to see some rain and potentially some “thundery showers”.

The general Met Office forecast for London and the South East for Sunday to Tuesday reads: “Unsettled, with a mixture of sunny spells and a few showers on Sunday.

“Heavy and possibly thundery rain moving east on Monday.”

On Tuesday, the Met Office forecast “further heavy and thundery showers”.

Does Wembley Stadium have a roof?

Football fans will undoubtedly have their fingers crossed for good weather this Sunday.

If rain does make an appearance at Wembley Stadium this Sunday, the stadium’s roof does not cover the pitch.

Anyone who finds themself in Level 1 seating may also find they are exposed to the elements, according to the Wembley Stadium website.
