Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Aurora on Thursday – The Denver Post
A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Aurora. According to Aurora police, the crash occurred on South Peoria Street near South Parker Road, and police responded at about 9:45 p.m.
A Lexus SUV was traveling northbound on South Parker Road when it started to make a right turn onto South Peoria Street. The driver, an adult male, lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. The male, who was the SUV’s lone occupant, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver’s identity will later be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office after positive identification and next-of-kin notifications, police stated in a news release Friday.
Investigators determined based on witnesses’ accounts and physical evidence at the crash scene that the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed. Traffic unit investigators will attempt to reconstruct the scene to determine speeds and other factors in the crash.
