Neil Parish has confirmed that he will step down after he was named as the MP alleged to have watched porn in the House of Commons while sat next to a female MP.

The whip had previously been withdrawn from Parish while Tory party whips carried out an investigation into the alleged incident.

Now, the MP for Tiverton and Honiton has confirmed that he will step down as an MP in light of the scandal.

Parish had previously made an appearance on GB News to discuss the incident on a segment captioned "minister porn probe", only for himself to subsequently be named as the MP in question.

Host Darren McCaffrey called the incident "jaw-dropping" in an interview with the MP, before questioning him on his stance on the allegations.

At the time the identity of the MP concerned had not been revealed.

A spokesperson for Tiverton and Honiton Conservatives said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Neil Parish for his service to our communities over the past 12 years.

“We support his decision to step down as our Member of Parliament.”
