Prince Harry faces a slapped wrist from the Queen for speaking publicly about US politics.

Palace staff have been ‘told to prepare for his return to the UK within weeks’ with Frogmore Cottage being readied for the duke’s arrival – without mention of Meghan Markle.

The Queen, 94, will most likely invite Harry to her 'HMS Bubble' at Windsor Castle where she has moved back into to resume audiences and small engagements.

It is feared by a royal expert that Harry has now ‘burnt significant bridges beyond repair’ with his comments on America’s presidential election.

A source told The Sun: “Staff at Windsor have been told to prepare for the possibility Harry could come back.

“They are told that it could be within weeks but Meghan's name was not mentioned.

“There are all sorts of issues to speak about — not only his political statements but also his visa situation in the US.

“Even though he would have to isolate for two weeks, the estate is large enough for talks in a socially distanced way.”

Prince Harry’s arranged trip back to the Frogmore Cottage, comes after he handed over a 'substantial sum' to pay its rent and the £2.4million taxpayer-funded renovations.

Now living in a $14million mansion in Santa Barbara, with their one-year-old son Archie, Harry and Meghan have 'burnt significant bridges beyond repair’ according to one royal expert.

The couple appear to 'not be bothered' by their decision to pack up their royal lives for the US, Penny Junor wrote in the Mirror.

Even if Prince Harry decides that he wants to improve his relationship with brother Prince William, biographer Penny believes it is unlikely Meghan will ever want a return.

The former actress has been urging Americans to vote as she wants to help change the world, which the biographer says would not have been possible as a senior member of the royal family.

Penny said: “In the past few months, Harry and Meghan have burnt some significant bridges that may be beyond repair.

“Right now, that doesn't seem to bother them. And I can't see Meghan ever wanting a way back. What she discovered in her brief spell as a working member, is the British royal family is no place for someone with political ambition.

“This centuries-old institution provides an unparalleled platform for charitable work – to change and improve people's lives – but it is not the springboard for changing the world – however burning and evident the need.”

Penny suggested that unlike his wife, Harry cares more about helping disadvantaged people than politics.

She added that it's likely 'he will find his way back' one day.

The news comes after Congressman Jason Smith of Missouri demanded that Meghan and Harry are of their royal titles for 'interfering' in the upcoming American election because he claims they are using them to sway voters.

Having lived in the US for more than 183 days, Harry could have to start paying tax there after cashing in £112million over Netflix deal with Meghan.
