Woman, 23, savaged to death by pack of vicious dogs on evening run in wasteland
A woman was killed by a wild pack of dogs who savaged her during an evening run.
Florencia Ledesma, 23, was pronounced dead in hospital soon after she was ambushed by at least half a dozen vicious animals on wasteland near her home.
The student desperately called her police officer brother Enzo who opened fire on the beasts as they began to attack him after speeding to Florencia's rescue on a motorbike.
The horror incident at around 7pm on Monday in Albardon near the western Argentinian city of San Juan, left Florencia bleeding to death from bite wounds to her arms, legs and chest.
The dogs were still on top of her when her brother reached the scene and managed to disperse them with gunshots after they tried to attack him.
Florencia’s aunt Rosa Ledesma, who managed to see her injured relative before the ambulance arrived to take her away, told a local newspaper: “All she asked for was water.
“I put water in her mouth but after a short while I realised she wasn’t moving anymore and that’s when I think she was already dead.”
Pal Javi Ortiz wrote on social media after learning of the tragedy: “What awful news.
“Rest in peace Florencia Ledesma.

Police were using drones in the area where the attack happened to try to track down the animals which are still said to be on the loose.
The victim jogged every evening as part of her exercise routine because she intended joining her brother in the police force and wanted to be in top shape to pass her physical exams.
She chose the wasteland where she was attacked because she felt safer than the streets around her home where there had been a recent mugging, local reports said.

The body of Elisa Pilarski, a 29-year-old who was six months pregnant, was discovered near the town of Villers-Cotterêts some 50 miles north-east of Paris.
It was initially thought the hunting dogs were to blame, but police later said after DNA tests she was killed by her partner's dog which was an American Staffordshire terrier, and not the hounds.
